KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Monday morning left for New Delhi on India to pay a five-day state visit toward the southern neighbor.
It is the President's first outside visit since her race to the top post in October 2015.
VP Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker Onsari Gharti among others saw Bhandari off at the Tribhuvan International Airport today.
President Bhandari will lead a 34-part group including Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sita Devi Yadav.
The legislature has declared an open occasion today on the event of the President's takeoff. Similarly, the day of her entry, Friday, April 21, would likewise be people in general occasion.
Upon the welcome of her Indian partner Pranab Mukherjee, the President would remain at the Rashtrapati Bhawan as a state visitor.
