KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba said he was not included in the administration's choice to delegate DIG Jaya Bahadur Chand as the Inspector General of Nepal Police.

After media detailed that he heaped undue weight on the legislature to pick Chand as the Chief of Nepal Police while the Prime Minister and the Minister for Home Affairs were for another competitor in view of the rank, Deuba issued a press explanation through his own secretary Keshav Raj Joshi this evening and denied the charge.

Chand, whose arrangement has been remained by the Supreme Court inside couple of hours, was at the third rank among four DIGs qualified to lead the national police association. Nawa Raj Silwal and Prakash Aryal were in front of him as far as position, as per the police sources.
