The Armed Police Force of Nepal is a paramilitary Land fighting power entrusted with counter-revolt operations in Nepal. It works as a semi-military wing, and involves a kind of double part as both military and law authorization. Administration is intentional and the base age for enrollment is 18 years. At first established with a list of 15,000 police and military staff, the Armed Police Force is anticipated to have a corps of 40,000 at the end of 2015.
In February 1996, the ideologically Maoist Communist Party of Nepal working as the United People's Front of Nepal started what was then named the "General population's War". Following outfitted resistance and criminal movement raising from the contention spurred King Gyanendra to consider storing up an autonomous police drive. In this manner, the Armed Police Force was established on the 24th of October 2001. Late Krishna Mohan Shrestha of the Nepal Police (then filling in as Additional Inspector General of Police) was its first Chief.
The present order and control association of Nepal's armed force is illustrated along the convention of the 1990 Constitution and its between time constitution. Its standing Inspector General is the Chief of Armed Police Forces, comparable in rank to a three star Lieutenant General of the Nepal Army.
The central ethos of the Armed Police Force (APF) is Peace, Security, Commitment.
